Emerald Cruises: the first ocean superyacht has sailed

Against the backdrop of the Jordanian city of Aqaba, Emerald Cruises‘ first luxury yacht, Emerald Azzurra, departed for her maiden cruise on March 12, 2022.

Emerald Azzurra, carrying only 100 guests in 50 deluxe cabins and suites, of which over 80% have balconies, is now sailing the eight-day “Best of the Red Sea” itinerary. Guests will make a stopover at the Egyptian tourist resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, as well as Eilat in Israel, before returning to Aqaba for an included guided tour of UNESCO-listed Petra.

Offering a luxurious cruise experience to harbors accessible only to small yachts, the bespoke ship features luxuriously appointed modern suites and a variety of public areas including a health club, complete with spa, gym and infrared sauna for the ultimate in comfort and a Sky Deck, which offers panoramic views and a spa pool. Guests will also enjoy a beautiful infinity pool on the Pool Deck.

“Every so often, a new yacht comes into the industry and changes things. Emerald Azzurra is exactly that yacht” said David Winterton, Emerald Cruises Global Director of Branding and Marketing.

“The level of luxury offered to each guest, combined with a diversified sailing program that includes cruises across the Adriatic coast, the Mediterranean and the Red Sea for its inaugural season, is truly revolutionary. We look forward to welcoming other guests and business partners on board.”

Emerald Azzurra will be officially welcomed into the brand’s award-winning fleet in Venice before the ship is repositioned in the Mediterranean and in the clear waters of the Adriatic coast for the 2022 summer season.

The new yacht will be joined by sister yacht Emerald Sakara in February 2023, with itineraries to the Seychelles, the Black Sea and the Middle East, on sale now.
