Crystal Cruises Brings Broadway to the High Seas
Crystal has announced a new chapter in its acclaimed Crystal on Broadway series: a cruise that combines world-class hospitality with a top-tier cultural experience.
From October 31 to November 8, 2025, Crystal Serenity will set sail from New York (Bayonne) on an autumn voyage through the scenic beauty of New England and Canada, calling at iconic destinations such as Newport, Provincetown, Boston, Portland, and Saint John, before returning to the Big Apple. But what truly sets this journey apart is the presence of some of the most influential names in American musical theatre, ready to bring all the magic and energy of Broadway on board.

Kevin McCollum, Tony Award Winning Broadway Producer
Among the special guests featured on this cruise is renowned theatre producer Kevin McCollum, a multiple Tony Award winner celebrated for smash hits such as RENT, Avenue Q, and In the Heights, as well as for producing stage adaptations of Mrs. Doubtfire and The Devil Wears Prada. He will be joined by acclaimed actress and singer Sierra Boggess, one of the most beloved voices in contemporary musical theatre, known for her roles in The Little Mermaid, The Phantom of the Opera, Harmony, and School of Rock. Her career has also taken her to the West End, where she starred in Love Never Dies, earning an Olivier Award nomination, along with a celebrated role in Les Misérables.
At the heart of the cruise’s artistic offering is the exclusive preview of Ever After The Musical, inspired by the beloved 1998 film that reimagines the Cinderella story with a modern twist — featuring a strong, independent heroine and a powerful message of female empowerment. Still in development and on its way to Broadway, the musical will be presented in a special onboard workshop format, giving guests an exclusive first look. The creative force behind the production includes Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, lyricist and composer respectively. The duo boasts a rich history of success, including a notable collaboration with Julie Andrews and her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton on The Great American Mousical. This connection is particularly meaningful, as Julie Andrews is the godmother of Crystal Serenity. Direction and choreography for Ever After The Musical are by Marlo Hunter, an award-winning director recently named a “Woman to Watch on Broadway” by the Broadway Women’s Fund. Her career spans some of America’s most prestigious theatres, including Second Stage, Roundabout, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival, along with several acclaimed film projects.

During the voyage, guests will have the opportunity to attend a cabaret-style concert by Sierra Boggess, accompanied by the Crystal Serenity showband. The program will also feature a special session dedicated to the musical in development, where select original songs will be performed, followed by an exclusive discussion with the creative team to explore the process behind creating and producing a theatrical show. An intimate performance by writers Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich will also take place, featuring a curated selection of their most celebrated works — in a show reminiscent of New York’s iconic 54 Below club.
Keith Cox, Vice President of Entertainment at Crystal, emphasized that these themed cruises are designed to offer guests privileged access to the world of theatre, going far beyond simply watching a performance. According to Cox, the goal is to bring the magic of Broadway directly on board, creating a bridge between artistic excellence and the luxury cruise experience. He highlighted how elements such as high-caliber performances and behind-the-scenes access to the creative development of a new musical are what truly set Crystal apart — a brand that seamlessly blends culture, inspiration, and high-quality entertainment within the unique setting of life at sea.

The cruise is already open for booking and comes at a particularly dynamic time for Crystal, which continues to innovate the onboard experience. In addition to prestigious collaborations such as the one with the Alajmo brothers for the Osteria d’Ovidio restaurant, Crystal has introduced unique offerings like the exclusive Beefbar at sea and the newly revamped Le Casino de Monte-Carlo. 2025 has also seen Crystal receive a major accolade, being named Top Midsize-Ship Ocean Cruise Line in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards readers’ survey — an honor the company has held for nearly thirty years.
