Celebrity Xcel will be the fifth ship of the Edge Series

Celebrity Cruises has announced, at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, where the first piece of steel has also been cut, that the fifth ship of its award-winning Edge Series will be named Celebrity Xcel. In addition to featuring the innovative experiences already present on its sister ships, this new unit will go even further to provide an unparalleled premium vacation experience.

“The Edge Series has revolutionized the cruise concept, and I am excited to announce our next bold step as a brand with Celebrity Xcel,” said Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge. “True to its name, this upcoming ‘Xcel’ ship will offer completely new, yet-to-be-revealed experiences that will change the game once again.”

Like its highly anticipated sister ship, Celebrity Ascent, debuting at the end of this month, Celebrity Xcel will connect guests to the world around them in a new and unique way. The experiences on board these ships make them a unique and incomparable class of vessels, with distinctive features and spaces including: The Retreat, an exclusive area for suite guests, highlighted by a two-story solarium terrace; modern accommodations, from two-story Villas with private pools to Infinite Verandas with expansive views blurring the boundary between indoor and outdoor living; an expanded Rooftop Garden and a stunning Resort Deck with cantilevered pools; a multi-level Sunset Bar and terraces that redefine the ship’s stern; a high-end restaurant by Daniel Boulud at sea; live entertainment and activities creating the best nights and days at sea; a redesigned Grand Plaza spanning three decks, creating an airy and open interior space, and the return of the Magic Carpet, an engineering marvel extending over the sea, offering guests uninterrupted panoramas while sipping cocktails or dining.

Celebrity Xcel will debut in November 2025 in the Caribbean, where it will embark on its inaugural winter season from Fort Lauderdale, with 7-night itineraries alternating between the Bahamas, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands, and Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten.
