Aurora Expeditions presents Sylvia Earle

Award-winning expedition travel company Aurora Expeditions today unveiled its second small ship, Sylvia Earle, which will embark on its maiden voyage from Ushuaia, Argentina, to Antarctica on Dec. 10, 2022.

The new Sylvia Earle, sister ship to the Greg Mortimer, is named after the famous marine biologist, explorer and environmentalist Dr. Sylvia Earle. The ship is designed to accommodate an average of 132 passengers and will provide a trip in a relaxed, fun and casual environment.

Featuring the revolutionary Ulstein X-BOWâ, it will offer elegant and comfortable cabins and suites, most with private balconies.

Public spaces will include multiple restaurants and bars, social and wellness relaxation areas, a heated outdoor pool and hot tubs, a gymnasium, a spa and sauna, a library room, a conference room, and large decks offering panoramic views of nature and wildlife.

An experienced expedition team will lead passengers in small groups on a myriad of water and shore excursions, with exciting activities: from Zodiac cruises to walking and hiking, sea kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, paddleboarding, skiing, photography and birdwatching, among others.
