A new Riviera unveiled by Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises unveils the renewed Riviera

The Ship Has a New Bar and Lounge, Upgraded Suites and Staterooms, Next-Gen Owner’s Suites and Much More

Oceania Cruises, a top cruise line and leader in culinary and destination-focused cruises, unveiled their ship Riviera’s impressive new features that were recently completed during a dry-dock in Marseille, France. This project is part of the brand’s OceaniaNEXT programme. Analogous improvements will be completed on Riviera’s sister-ship Marina, in May 2020.

Bob Binder, the President and CEO of Oceania Cruises had this to say: “With the evolution of OceaniaNEXT, this was an opportunity to not just enhance the guest experience aboard Riviera, but to elevate it through the addition of surprising new elements.”

One of the most striking changes is the brand new coffee bar area and inclusion of a lounge on Deck 14 that offers incredible panoramic sea views. A true beauty in silver and sea greens with bold accents of gold and ebony and white marble, the state-of-the-art Bar Istas lounge is the perfect place for relaxation or to enjoy a conversation over a delicious Illy coffee drink. The drinks are created using the impressive Victoria Arduino espresso machine – known as the “Rolls Royce of Coffee.”

The Riviera’s 200 Concierge, 244 Veranda staterooms, and 124 Penthouse Suites emanate a stylish new air onboard inspired by the Insignia and Sirena. Still possessing the charm and warmth they are known for, the luxurious wenge walnut paneling and upholstered headboards now offer accents of espresso, caramel, and ivory with all brand-new carpeting and fabrics.

The masterpiece of the project is surely the three next-generation Owner’s Suites furnished exclusively with the Ralph Lauren Home Collection. With the new layout, guests enter through the stunning foyer with a limestone and black cabochon inset floor, with walls featuring Georgian wood paneling and a luxurious mahogany and quartzite bar. Ample and light, the room features breath-taking sea-views from the panoramic windows dressed with Ralph Lauren Home Grimaldi-weave fabric. The room even has a self-playing ebony piano that guests will find perfect for in-suite entertaining.

The main feature of the chic living room is a new deep-navy sectional with saddle-suede accents that is accompanied by a mahogany Lounge Moderne chair with navy and white Super-Yacht Stripe upholstery. In the dining room guests will find a centrally placed Mayfair dining table with a dazzling Barrett Knurled chandelier overhead.

The master suite is like a relaxing refuge, and has an entirely new look with a generous Cote D’Azure king-size bed, refined Mayfair Bergere side chairs covered in Sutton Suede Doe, and striking nickel-trimmed lighting features.

The final touch is the wraparound teak veranda that feature classy pieces that were custom designed by Ralph Lauren Home just for Oceania Cruises.

The design of the Owner’s Suites, by Los Angeles based Trevor R. Howells Interior Design, reflects Ralph Lauren’s love of sailing and classic Hollywood glamour and beauty.
