Starhotels welcomes Collina d’Oro Resort & SPA


Starhotels Collezione welcomes a new gem to its international portfolio: Collina d’Oro Resort & SPA, a refined five-star property located just minutes from Lugano, where the slow rhythm of nature meets the art of high-end hospitality.

The agreement, the result of a commercial partnership, strengthens the Italian group’s presence in the luxury resort and wellness segment by selecting a destination that blends tranquillity, harmony, and breathtaking views—ideal for guests seeking a rejuvenating experience away from the bustle of everyday life.

Elisabetta Fabri, President and CEO of Starhotels, emphasized that the group’s entry into Switzerland represents a significant strategic step. She noted that the agreement with Collina d’Oro Resort & SPA enhances Starhotels’ expertise in high-end hospitality and strengthens the Group’s role as a benchmark for excellence. Fabri also explained that this initiative enables Starhotels to attract prestigious properties seeking a reliable and highly competent partner, offering the opportunity to extend its know-how beyond traditional borders and to leverage the experience gained in both domestic and international markets.

Collina d’Oro Resort is set within 25 hectares of natural parkland, among sun-kissed hills, woodlands, and panoramic views stretching across the Alps and the lake. The area’s mild and luminous microclimate also inspired Nobel Prize winner Hermann Hesse, who spent the final years of his life here. The resort features 44 rooms, including 28 suites, all distinguished by large windows that flood the interiors with natural light, refined furnishings, and a restrained yet elegant design. The experience is completed by a 1,000-square-metre spa, a fitness area, and a restaurant celebrating Mediterranean cuisine with a contemporary twist.

Marcello Forti, CEO of H-Food, the company that operates Collina d’Oro Resort, also highlighted the importance of the partnership with Starhotels. Forti said he was particularly pleased to renew the collaboration with Elisabetta Fabri and the entire Starhotels Group, which he described as an Italian excellence capable of transforming quality, style, and hospitality into a true cultural heritage. He added that H-Food shares with Starhotels core values such as attention to detail, respect for tradition, innovation, and a genuine passion for the guest experience. Forti emphasized that this collaboration will further enhance the iconic Collina d’Oro property in Lugano, giving rise to a contemporary luxury project that brings together expertise, heritage, and new international perspectives.

Under the agreement, Starhotels will support the resort in sales and promotional activities, marketing and communication, revenue management strategies, and the integration of the booking system and the I AM STAR loyalty programme. The property will retain its own identity and operational autonomy, fully aligned with the standards of the Starhotels Collezione brand.
