Sani Resort Triumphs at the 2025 World Travel Awards

Sani Resort, a renowned international luxury destination, celebrates another year of success at the 2025 World Travel Awards, securing three prestigious accolades that further cement its leadership in family, sustainable, and cultural tourism.

The Greek resort has been recognized for the seventh consecutive time as the World’s Leading Family & Beach Resort, for the sixth time as the World’s Leading Luxury Green Resort, and for the fourth time as the World’s Leading Cultural Destination Resort. The awards were announced on 6 December 2025 at Exhibition World in Bahrain, reflecting the resort’s unwavering commitment to excellence in the international hospitality sector.

Being named the World’s Leading Family & Beach Resort for the seventh consecutive year highlights Sani Resort’s commitment to offering tailor-made experiences for families of all ages. Guests can enjoy activities designed for both children and adults, from courses at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre and the Chelsea FC Football Academy to the Bear Grylls Survival Academy and the Tree Top Adventure Course. With 7 km of beach dedicated to water sports and 20 km of trails through forests and cycling routes, Sani Resort provides an ideal environment for families seeking a blend of relaxation and adventure. Younger guests can have fun at the three Kids Clubs, the Sani Creche, or the Teens Club, all managed by the qualified Childcare Sani Explorers team, while parents can carve out moments of relaxation.

Sani Resort, the first carbon-neutral resort in Greece since 2020 and powered entirely by renewable energy, has won gold for the sixth time in the World’s Leading Luxury Green Resort category thanks to its award-winning Sani Green programme. This includes environmental protection initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as well as collaborations with local NGOs to safeguard the Sani forest, surrounding seas, and resort wetlands.

Guests can take part in guided eco-educational experiences, such as excursions to the Sani Wetlands, forest tours, birdwatching, and visits to the olive groves. In 2021, Sani Resort launched the Sani Bee Spot, the largest bee habitat in Greece, in collaboration with the NGO Bee Camp, to protect local pollinators. Other projects, such as the Thermaikos Biodiversity Project in partnership with iSea, focus on restoring marine species, including the hatching of endangered rays. The ECOCARBON and ECOSERVICES programmes, developed with the Forest Research Institute, monitor the resort’s carbon footprint and the carbon storage potential of the Aleppo pine forest. With an advanced water treatment system and its Triple Zero Goal, Sani Resort aims to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2030.

The recognition as the World’s Leading Cultural Destination Resort acknowledges Sani Resort’s ability to integrate art, music, and fine dining into its summer calendar. The Sani Festival, Greece’s largest private festival, attracts world-renowned artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Tom Jones, Bonnie Tyler, Chris Norman, and many others each year. Since 1992, the festival has offered performances every weekend throughout July and August, creating a vibrant meeting point for music and culture enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, Sani Gourmet, the resort’s annual culinary event, hosts Michelin-starred chefs for unforgettable gastronomic experiences. Recent guests have included Yannick Alléno, Gaggan Anand, Virgilio Martínez, Daniel Boulud, and Emma Bengtsson, offering visitors a unique combination of culinary excellence and an exclusive atmosphere. The 2026 Sani Gourmet programme promises more fine-dining evenings with internationally renowned chefs.

Sani Resort is set to reopen in April 2026, continuing to provide world-class hospitality while maintaining high standards of excellence across all aspects of the resort. These awards testify to the brand’s commitment to delivering sustainable luxury family holidays and extraordinary cultural experiences, confirming its position as a global leader in hospitality.

With over fifty years of experience, Sani Resort not only offers a luxury destination for families but also serves as a model of responsible and innovative tourism, generating a positive impact on local communities and the environment, further cementing its reputation as a world-class resort.
