VIVA Cruises has officially launched in Australia through a new partnership with Cruise Traveller, which will act as the brand’s exclusive representative in the market and support local sales development.
Headquartered in Germany and owned by Swiss shipping company Scylla AG, VIVA Cruises operates a fleet of nine contemporary premium river vessels accommodating between 80 and 190 guests. The company offers all-inclusive itineraries across some of Europe’s best-known waterways, combining a relaxed onboard atmosphere with regional cuisine, beverages, Wi-Fi, gratuities and selected shore excursions included in the fare.
Cruise Traveller Managing Director Joe O’Sullivan said the partnership reflects the company’s focus on boutique and small-ship cruising and will introduce a new European river product to Australian travelers. “At Cruise Traveller, we’re passionate about sharing boutique journeys on water with Australians and the unique experiences and itineraries VIVA Cruises offers across Europe are exactly what we specialize in,” he said.
The Australian launch will see VIVA Cruises promoted with pricing in Australian dollars, a factor designed to simplify the booking process for local guests and travel advisors. Cruise Traveller will also support the brand with market-specific sales activity and packages aimed at the Australian outbound cruise segment.
To mark the launch, Cruise Traveller has introduced a limited-time cabin upgrade promotion on selected VIVA Cruises departures in July and August 2027. Guests making a new booking by October 11, 2026, on selected sailings aboard VIVA MOMENTS, VIVA TIARA or VIVA TWO will receive a complimentary cabin upgrade.
Eligible guests booking an Emerald Deck Double Cabin with window can be upgraded to a Ruby Deck Double Cabin with French balcony, while passengers booking a Ruby Deck French balcony cabin can move to a corresponding cabin on Diamond Deck.
One of the cruises included in the promotion is a seven-night Danube itinerary aboard VIVA TIARA, departing round-trip from Passau on August 11, 2027. The voyage includes destinations such as the Wachau Valley, Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava and Melk, combining major cultural centers with some of the Danube’s most established river cruise destinations.
The agreement with Cruise Traveller gives VIVA Cruises a dedicated distribution partner in Australia as the company continues to broaden its presence beyond its core European markets. For Cruise Traveller, the partnership adds another European river cruise brand to a portfolio focused on boutique, luxury and expedition cruising.
The promotional cabin upgrade offer is available for eligible bookings made by October 11, 2026, subject to availability and applicable conditions.
