The World: Luxury and Adventure Across Six Continents
In 2026, The World, Residences at Sea — the largest and most prestigious private residential yacht in the world — will embark on an extraordinary journey that will elevate the art of travel to unprecedented heights.
With an itinerary spanning six continents, 90 destinations, and 20 countries, the new 2026 Voyage promises to be the most ambitious ever undertaken by the ship — an unparalleled experience where exploration and comfort seamlessly merge. Planned in close collaboration with its Residents, this unique journey will take guests from the wilds of Antarctica to the crystal-clear waters of French Polynesia, passing through vibrant metropolises and legendary islands.
The World
Departing early 2026 from Tasmania, Australia, and concluding in the lively city of Singapore, The World’s 2026 Voyage guarantees a full year of unforgettable exploration. After sailing along the natural wonders of Australia and New Zealand, the ship will head to the remote Antarctic continent for a rare semi-circumnavigation, offering a unique opportunity to immerse in the pristine beauty of the “White Continent.” The route will then cross the ocean to South America’s spectacular shores, including stops at Ushuaia and the Chilean fjords. From there, the journey continues into the remote waters of the South Pacific, with calls at legendary islands such as Easter Island, Pitcairn, and Robinson Crusoe. In April, Residents will experience the magic of French Polynesia — from Tahiti to Bora Bora — before sailing toward Hawaii and making landfall on the California coast.
The voyage will then proceed northward, traversing the rainforests and fjords of the Pacific Northwest and Canada, finally reaching Alaska. Here, stops at less frequented destinations like Valdez, Kodiak, and the Aleutian Islands will offer authentic, off-the-beaten-path experiences. As autumn arrives, the ship will sail toward Asia, visiting remarkable cities such as Tokyo, Hiroshima, Busan, Beijing, and Shanghai. The journey’s grand finale will be a cultural and spiritual immersion with stops in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Brunei, culminating in a celebratory event in Singapore.

One of the most groundbreaking aspects of the 2026 Voyage is that it was conceived and voted on directly by The World’s Residents in close cooperation with the management company. After more than three years of meticulous planning, the itinerary reflects the desires, passions, and curiosities of those living onboard. Jessica Hoppe, President & CEO of The World, emphasized that each stop on the 2026 Voyage is the result of direct Resident input, shaped through months of dialogue and collaboration. She also highlighted how the itinerary balances individual perspectives with a collective vision, a feature that truly makes The World unique.
The World is far more than just a cruise ship — it is a floating community of Residents who choose to live among the waves without sacrificing the comfort and luxury of a private home. Each suite is a privately owned residence, equipped with every convenience, and extended port stays allow for deep cultural immersion at every destination.
A particularly captivating feature of the 2026 Voyage will be three extraordinary expeditions designed to offer Residents immersive, educational, and deeply engaging experiences. Led by a team of world-renowned experts, including marine biologists, anthropologists, historians, and photographers, these expeditions will open doors to remote and often inaccessible territories, offering unique perspectives on our planet.
The first major adventure will take guests to Antarctica along a rare semi-circumnavigation route. Amid monumental icebergs, wildlife, and surreal landscapes, Residents will have the opportunity to explore extraordinarily isolated sites such as Mount Erebus — one of the continent’s few active volcanoes — and visit the historic huts of Scott and Shackleton, relics of the heroic era of polar exploration. Thanks to specially equipped Zodiacs, they will be able to land at normally inaccessible points, experiencing Antarctica’s beauty up close and authentically.

The second expedition will take place in the heart of the planet’s most remote ocean, the South Pacific, crossing islands steeped in myth and history. Among them, Easter Island and Robinson Crusoe Island, as well as the fascinating Pitcairn Islands, still inhabited by descendants of the Bounty mutineers. This voyage will also be a journey into the memory and cultural identity of isolated communities deeply connected to the sea, offering intimate encounters rarely available to typical travelers.
Finally, the third expedition will escort Residents through the colors and scents of French Polynesia and the remote Line Islands. This sensory experience will traverse turquoise lagoons, pristine coral reefs, and ancient Polynesian traditions still alive today. The Line Islands, among the most isolated in the world, represent a true natural paradise — ideal for those wishing to explore extraordinary marine ecosystems and be inspired by a profound connection with nature.
With the 2026 Voyage, The World, Residences at Sea continues to redefine the art of sea travel, offering its Residents an unparalleled experience of discovery, luxury, culture, and connection.
