Crystal: steady growth and strong brand confidence

Crystal confirms a strong performance in 2025, driven by significant refurbishments, ongoing investments, and industry recognition. Guest confidence and renewed growth further strengthen the brand’s position entering 2026.

In 2022, A&K Travel Group acquired Crystal and immediately embarked on a major transformation, starting with the refurbishment of Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. Both ships returned to service in 2023 following multi-million-dollar renovations, featuring larger, more refined suites and a renewed focus on space, service, and elegance.

The year 2025 marked a period of stabilization and growth. Throughout the year, the brand achieved strong profitability, driven by robust demand. Looking ahead to 2026, Crystal begins the year from a position of strength, with bookings continuing to rise. Cruises in Asia are fully booked, and the final spots for Alaska are filling fast. High demand is also evident for the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, while select summer and autumn departures remain available for the Americas and the Caribbean.

Matias Lira, Senior Vice President, Trade SalesAmericas, UK & EMEA, commented that what they are witnessing is the result of a deliberate investment in what matters most to guests: space, attentive service, thoughtful design, and truly unique experiences. For over thirty years, Crystal has set the standard for luxury at sea, and the momentum entering 2026 reflects both the strength of that tradition and the continued relevance of the Crystal experience today.

Crystal offers an onboard experience akin to staying at one of the world’s finest hotels rather than a conventional cruise. With intuitive service, understated elegance, and one of the highest space-to-guest ratios at sea (almost one crew member per guest), life on board embodies genuine well-being.

Renewed confidence from guests and travel advisors has sparked a new chapter in the brand’s revival, driving strong commercial momentum through its sophisticated, high-end journeys. Culinary experiences are a hallmark of Crystal’s sensory journey, with nine restaurants across the fleet, including Umi Uma, the only open-sea restaurant by chef Nobu Matsuhisa (and the only Beefbar at sea). Each ship also features Le Casino de Monte-Carlo, the Aurōra Spa, Broadway-caliber entertainment, and carefully curated cultural programming.

The company’s course correction began with a partnership with its sister brand Abercrombie & Kent (A&K Travel Group), which allowed the Crystal experience to extend far beyond the ship. Crystal has significantly expanded A&K’s curated travel portfolio with immersive onshore experiences, overland adventures, and pre- and post-cruise programs. The collaboration continues with the delivery of A&K’s renowned cultural journeys aboard Crystal’s award-winning fleet. The first August 2026 cruise sold out within weeks, with ten additional voyages planned for 2027.

Furthermore, in 2025, Crystal was named Best Mid-Size Ocean Cruise Line at the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, a title the brand had held for nearly 30 consecutive years prior to its hiatus and relaunch.

Crystal is not stopping there and has announced the construction of Crystal Grace, the company’s first new ocean ship in 25 years, set to debut in May 2028. Accommodating 650 guests exclusively in suites, the ship will reach unprecedented levels in Crystal’s design and service philosophy, featuring expansive public spaces, world-class dining, and one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in its segment. The inaugural 2028 season of Crystal Grace will go on sale in April 2026.
