Atlas Adventurer: The Future of Luxury Expeditions
Atlas Ocean Voyages is currently engaged in the construction of its first luxury sailing expedition yacht, a next-generation new build that marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing evolution and growth within the luxury expedition cruise sector.
The Atlas Adventurer, a new ship in the Atlas class, is an eco-friendly exploration yacht featuring hybrid propulsion and rigid sails, representing a natural evolution of Atlas Ocean Voyages’ world-class expedition fleet. Specifically designed for global exploration, it seamlessly combines advanced technology with high-level comfort. The yacht is equipped with state-of-the-art marine systems and features three carbon-fiber masts with rigid sails that, when sea and wind conditions allow, enhance operational efficiency and enable zero-emission sailing, ensuring a quiet presence on the water.

Designed for worldwide exploration, the Atlas Adventurer is a sailing yacht approximately 210 meters in length, equipped with dual-fuel engines and an electric-hybrid propulsion system supported by a powerful 9-megawatt marine battery. This allows the vessel to maintain high speeds even in light winds, while ensuring nearly silent sailing. Its technical features include zero-speed fin stabilizers, two vertical stabilizer fins, a reinforced hull, and Ice Class 1B (Polar Category C) certification, providing maximum stability, reliability, and sophisticated performance across a wide range of operational scenarios around the globe.
With a maximum capacity of 400 guests and a crew of 275, the Atlas-class yacht will offer an even richer and more diverse onboard experience. All accommodations will be exclusively suites, featuring larger spaces and enhanced amenities, complemented by an expanded range of dining, wellness, and entertainment offerings. All of this will be delivered without compromising the intimate atmosphere and personalized boutique-style service that are the hallmarks of Atlas Ocean Voyages.
James A. Rodriguez, President and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages, stated that the new Atlas-class sailing yacht represents a key strategic step in the company’s growth trajectory. The vessel will enable the brand to expand its presence in destinations highly sought after by its clientele, further strengthening Atlas’ positioning in the luxury expedition cruise segment. According to Rodriguez, the ship clearly embodies the company’s future direction, based on measured growth, meticulous design, and increasingly in-depth global exploration.
Mario Ferreira, Chairman, Founder, and Owner of Mystic Invest Holding, Atlas’ parent company, emphasized that innovation has always been central to the group’s philosophy in approaching world exploration. With the Atlas Adventurer, he explained, a new generation of luxury expedition sailing yachts is being introduced, conceived as an ideal bridge between 15th-century sailing traditions and 21st-century advanced technologies such as rigid sails and electric propulsion. The vessel is designed to comply with future zero-emission port regulations and to sail silently, allowing access even to the most exclusive and regulated ports. The integration of contemporary design, carbon-fiber masts, rigid sails, and a powerful 9-megawatt battery system enables near-silent operation while sailing. These innovations, Ferreira highlighted, reaffirm the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainable and technologically advanced tourism, while expanding exploration opportunities and enhancing the onboard experience. Atlas Adventurer thus represents the next evolution of a responsible, highly technological, comfortable, and safe yacht.

The ship will feature seven dining venues, including specialty restaurants and a new culinary studio for hands-on experiences and destination-inspired programs. Additionally, there will be five lounges and cocktail bars, as well as two outdoor bars. Facilities will include an expanded fitness and wellness center, a large pool, and dedicated expedition infrastructure, including Zodiac inflatables, luxury motorboats, and a marine platform with an ocean pool for water-based explorations.
Starting at the end of 2028, Atlas Adventurer will explore destinations across Asia, including Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, as well as Africa, including the Seychelles, Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, and South Africa. This will further expand the company’s global presence and continue to redefine luxury expedition cruising to remote destinations worldwide.
