Hamburg is set to once again become the meeting point for cruise ship interior design and outfitting with the new edition of Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Europe (CSI Europe), taking place on 2 and 3 December 2026 at Hamburg Messe + Congress.
Registrations are officially open, and participants will be able to attend the event free of charge, as CSI Europe represents one of the leading meeting points for the global cruise interior design community. With more than 300 exhibitors expected, CSI Europe will offer an overview of the latest industry trends, from innovative materials and advanced design solutions to products set to shape the guest experience aboard the ships of the future.
Among the most anticipated areas of the event is the return of Hospitality@CSI, the dedicated space bringing together design, hospitality and operations. The format increasingly reflects the multidisciplinary nature of contemporary shipbuilding, where designers, cruise lines and suppliers collaborate from the earliest stages to create environments capable of combining aesthetics, functionality and guest experience.
The 2026 edition arrives at a time of significant transformation for the luxury maritime sector. In recent months, several major brands have announced new projects in the high-end cruise and yachting segments. Four Seasons has entered the market with its first vessel, Four Seasons I, while Mercedes-Maybach has announced a project in partnership with Lloyd Werft for the construction of a 155-metre superyacht conceived as an exclusive private club at sea.
The increasingly blurred boundaries between luxury cruising and yachting will be one of the key themes of the 2026 edition. CSI Europe has always featured a strong presence of companies active in the yacht sector, and this year it will give particular visibility to those players capable of interpreting the evolving demands of the luxury marine market.
Beyond the exhibition area, strong attention will be dedicated to content through the conference programme, the only one in Europe entirely focused on the cruise ship interiors community. Designers, cruise lines and industry professionals will discuss the sector’s main challenges, from evolving guest expectations to sustainable design and strategies for developing increasingly personalised and distinctive environments.
Among the key events returning this year is the Sustainable Design Summit, an interactive workshop dedicated to developing sustainable solutions applicable to the ship design sector. At the same time, for the second consecutive year, a dedicated shipbuilding track will run alongside the conference, offering insights into new technologies and production processes.
A new feature of the 2026 edition will also be Design Deck, a content and installation space that made its debut at CSI Americas. Here, design studios and professionals will share ideas, visions and analyses of future cruise design trends, while exploring the relationship between cruise lines and designers in the development of new concepts. For the first time, outfitters will also take part, providing a broader perspective on the process behind the creation of onboard environments.
The event will conclude with the Cruise Ship Interiors Awards, the ceremony dedicated to celebrating the finest achievements in the world of cruise ship interiors. The awards will recognise industry excellence across 13 categories, including Best Dining Space, Best Brand Original Project and Best Interior Product of the Year. The initiative celebrates the projects and professionals who have helped redefine the concept of hospitality at sea, recognising innovation, creativity and design quality. The Awards also provide an important opportunity to highlight the work of designers, shipyards and suppliers whose solutions contribute to transforming cruise ships into authentic floating destinations.
As the cruise industry continues to evolve, interior spaces are becoming increasingly strategic. New ships are no longer designed simply to transport passengers, but to deliver immersive experiences through environments that combine aesthetics, functionality, sustainability and technology.
Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Europe 2026 therefore represents a privileged observatory on the trends that will shape the next generations of cruise ships: from material selection to space design, from sustainability to the creation of increasingly personalised environments.
