MedCruise continues its journey towards digital transformation by investing in innovation and knowledge sharing through engagement with leading international technology ecosystems.

From 13 to 15 October, Luz Marina Espiau Moreno, a member of the MedCruise Board of Directors responsible for digitalisation and innovation, attended TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 in San Francisco, one of the leading international events for startups, technology companies, investors and professionals working to develop new digital solutions.

The event provided an important opportunity to explore the latest technological trends, artificial intelligence applications, digital solutions for businesses and new professional training models — topics that are set to have an increasingly significant impact on the future of the cruise industry.

During the event, Luz Marina Espiau Moreno had the opportunity to exchange ideas with professionals from Google for Startups and Salesforce, sharing insights into the opportunities offered by digitalisation and presenting Blue Community, the project she coordinates as part of MedCruise’s activities.

Developed in collaboration with SEIDOR, Blue Community was created to promote digital literacy, continuous learning and professional development among MedCruise members. The initiative responds to the evolving needs of a rapidly changing sector by facilitating access to digital tools, specialist expertise and training programmes tailored to the diverse professionals within the association. Through Blue Community, MedCruise aims to strengthen knowledge sharing, develop new digital skills and support industry professionals as they adapt to the technological changes reshaping the cruise sector.

Participation in TechCrunch Disrupt provided an opportunity to explore key emerging trends and assess potential collaborations and training initiatives that could support the future development of Blue Community. Discussions with technology experts focused in particular on artificial intelligence applications, the use of digital tools, data management and the evolution of training and leadership models.

These exchanges form part of MedCruise’s strategy to build connections with international organisations and encourage the circulation of knowledge and experience. The aim is to make the opportunities arising from innovation and digital transformation increasingly accessible and practically valuable to its members. Particular attention is also being paid to training the next generation of cruise industry leaders, equipping them with the skills needed to understand technological changes and address the sector’s emerging challenges with confidence.

For MedCruise, digital transformation concerns the entire cruise ecosystem and extends beyond infrastructure and operational processes. It also encompasses services, commercial activities and the professional development of people working in the sector. By engaging with international technology ecosystems, the association aims to identify solutions that meet its members’ needs and promote new forms of collaboration among industry stakeholders.

Luz Marina Espiau Moreno’s participation in TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 therefore reflects MedCruise’s commitment to investing in continuous learning, digital innovation and the further development of Blue Community as a tool for growth across its membership network.
