Description

Originally the Carnival Destiny, Carnival Sunshine will go down in history as the first cruise ship in the world to cross the fateful 100,000-tonne gross tonnage threshold. With its completion, the shipbuilding industry entered the era of the mega-ship. It was characterised by a Las Vegas-style layout designed by Joe Farcus. In 2013, Carnival Cruise Line's vessel underwent an intensive refit which brought a new layout by PSD, while the exterior was spoiled with the addition of a forward superstructure with new cabins.

I chose the Carnival Sunshine for an 8-day Eastern Caribbean cruise departing from Norfolk, Virginia — and I couldn’t have made a better choice. The itinerary was well-balanced: after two relaxing sea days, we stopped in San Juan (Puerto Rico), Amber Cove (Dominican Republic), and Grand Turk (Turks and Caicos). Each port offered the perfect mix of beaches, culture, and tropical relaxation. Onboard, the Sunshine truly felt like an oasis of fun and comfort. I was especially impressed by the variety and quality of the dining options: from the Italian flavors at Cucina del Capitano to the fresh bites at BlueIguana Cantina, not to mention the always well-stocked buffet. My favorite spot to unwind was the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, while for pure fun, there were shows, themed parties, live music, and the amazing WaterWorks waterpark. A vibrant but well-run ship, with a cheerful and attentive crew. Perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy Caribbean sunshine without giving up comfort.

Disfrutamos mucho de este crucero y definitivamente volveremos en el futuro. La bienvenida fue excepcional, el barco es muy hermoso y recibimos un servicio excelente. Había actividades divertidas todos los días como juegos, espectáculos cómicos, karaoke o música en vivo. La comida era muy buena, variada y el personal era muy eficiente. El diseño de todo el barco era hermoso, con diferentes áreas amplias y acogedoras. Nuestra habitación era muy cómoda y el encargado de la cabina fue realmente eficiente. ¡El destino es increíble, vimos paraísos naturales! ¡Sin duda, una excelente elección para aquellos que quieran reservar un próximo crucero!
