Description
She is the first of Carnival’s 8 Fantasy Class newbuilds, launched in 1990. She is unique in that she was dedicated to short 3 & 4 day cruises from her lunch, something unusual for a brand new ship. Her main competition at the time was Royal Caribbean’s Nordic Empress, also launched into short 3 & 4 day cruises. Carnival Fantasy’s interiors were by Joe Farcus, controversial for his over the top, Vegas style décor. She has since had several refits where some of her Farcus interiors have been toned down.
