Cruising to Artic: luxury and all-inclusive

Explore the Remote North In-Depth and In-Style with Abercrombie & Kent Luxury Expedition Cruising
New for 2020: Adventure Cruise to Iceland & Greenland; Plus an Epic Grand Arctic Voyage

More than polar bears, midnight sun and Viking culture, the Arctic offers a remarkable history of exploration and survival, Inuit traditions and natural phenomena. Abercrombie & Kent’s Luxury Expedition CruisesSM highlight the region’s varied offerings, including – new for 2020 – Ultimate Iceland & Greenland Cruise and a sweeping 48-day Grand Arctic Voyage that combines all of A&K’s Arctic offerings into one epic adventure that spans five Arctic regions.
Starting off the season is Arctic Cruise Adventure: In Search of the Polar Bear (Jul 31-Aug 14, 2020) which explores the Svalbard Islands, home to rich wildlife and stunning scenery, and the rarely-visited east coast of Greenland. Then Ultimate Iceland & Greenland Cruise (Aug 13-27, 2020) is an immersive adventure featuring a treasure trove of Viking history. Discover the rugged and remote coastlines of Iceland’s stunning Westfjords, and retrace the pioneering trails of Erik the Red and other historic adventurers that ultimately led to the discovery of North America.
Finally The Northwest Passage: From Greenland to the Bering Sea (Aug 24- Sep 16, 2020) follows in the footsteps of the greatest polar explorers from western Greenland to Nome, Alaska. And for the first time, guests may combine all three voyages into one extraordinary Arctic expedition on Grand Arctic Voyage (July 31-Sept 16, 2020), experiencing everything from varied wildlife, geological wonders, fabled cultures and endless wilderness deep in the heart of the Arctic.
A&K’s Expedition Team of accomplished, real-life explorers – ranging from award-winning scientists to habitat conservationists, historians and recipients of the prestigious Polar Medal – bring each voyage to life in a most extraordinary way. Whether joining one, two or all three cruises, guests can count on insight and guidance from an average of 20 A&K Expedition Team members every step of the way, with interactions that include adventurous Zodiac cruises, fascinating lectures, unforgettable wildlife encounters and stories best shared over meals. A&K’s dedicated photo coach also joins every voyage, allowing guests to hone their skills with lectures and hands-on workshops for both experts and budding photographers alike, in one of the world’s most photogenic settings.
By chartering the luxurious mega-yacht ‘Le Boreal,’ A&K is able to limit guest capacity to 199, which not only allows unrestricted access to landing sites prohibited to larger vessels, but also affords an intimate staff-to-guest ratio of 1 to 1.3, as well as a private balcony in every stateroom and suite. Each voyage is all-inclusive, featuring arrival and departure transfers, gratuities and bar drinks, in addition to complimentary Wi-Fi and Traveller’s Valet® laundry service – exclusive A&K amenities.
A fresh menu inspired by France’s culinary heritage encompasses everything from lavish multi-course dinners and international buffets to carefully-selected cheeses and freshly-baked pastries that rival those found in Paris. With a choice of restaurants, no formal evenings, and 24-hour room service, guests have the flexibility to dine when and where they wish.
To ensure travellers have all the gear they need for their polar voyage (and not use up valuable luggage space), A&K provides a custom expedition parka, backpack and water bottle. Guests also enjoy complimentary use of boots, waterproof pants and trekking poles, all of which are delivered to staterooms, courtesy of A&K’s exclusive concierge service.
